Kevin and Pamela’s wedding took place at St. Mary’s Student Parish downtown Ann Arbor, and their reception was at the lovely Campus Inn a few blocks away. Their wedding brought together two families from different parts of the globe. Many of the groom’s family members flew in from Guam, and some of the brides relatives flew in from Ecuador for the event. The blend of traditions was beautiful and unique as the two families became one. I hope you enjoy the images that we captured for Pamela and Kevin.

Thank you Pamela and Kevin for allowing us to document such a magical weekend in your lives! We felt privileged to capture the memories of your rehearsal, wedding, and the baptism of your precious baby girl! We wish you many blessings as begin life as husband and wife and as parents!

We had a fabulous time taking pictures at WineFest! There was a great turn out for the event, and everyone was dressed to the nines. The food was amazing and the wine selection was superb! If you have never been to WineFest I highly recommend that you attend next year, and support all of the wonderful things that are going on at the Art Center.

The wedding took place at the stunning River Birch Lodge nestled in a very private and lovely wooded area.Despite the chilly weather and brisk wind, we still managed to get some amazing outdoor shots with the flowering trees and unique architecture. The atmosphere in the lodge was comforting, and the familiar scent of woodsmoke from the fireplaces filled the air. The bride and groom were relaxed, yet the excitement of the day was written all over their faces! As guests began to arrive the rooms quickly filled with happy faces and the conversation between old friends.

The Day of the Big Cut!

Yesterday was a big day for me! I cut my hair for the first time in 16 years and I cut off a total of 14 inches in length!

It wasn’t a normal day. It started at 6:15 when I got up and got ready to take our car in for repair downtown Ann Arbor. Josh took the day off work to get the car fixed and to go to my morning meetings that I had scheduled downtown. We left at 7:15 and dropped of the car at 7:30. We had two and a half hours to kill before my 10:00AM meeting, so we walked to Sweetwaters for some coffee to start our day. The butterflies started as I thought of what was going to happen at 6:15PM (or maybe it was just the coffee in my empty stomach). As we surfed the internet and sipped our coffee I though about how my hair cut was going to make me feel. After about an hour of talking about random stuff we decided to start walking toward Starbucks on State St. where my first meeting would take place. The rumbles in our tummies sent us on a detour to Panera for a bagel before the meeting.

Finally 10:00 came and we met with the wardrobe stylist (the lovely Molly Shaheen) for our large group photo shoot coming up in April. We talked about the themes for the shoot and how to organize the events of the day. It went well!

My next meeting was with Tony Lupo from Salon Vox. We are combining forces to bring our clients some amazingly good deals!!! Details coming soon so stay tuned!

For lunch we went to Cafe Habana.

Our very colorful food. I got pork tacos with pineapple and salsa verde. I also go beans and rice for us to share (yummy!!!). Josh got the Cuban Sandwich, which is usually really good but it was cold when it came out. The worst part was that no one came to check and see how our food was so Josh had to eat it cold (he wasn’t happy). We had never had bad service at Cafe Habana before yesterday, so we were surprised that we never got refills and that our server was very rude. We are hoping to have a better experience if we decide to go back again someday.

After lunch the car still wasn’t done so we decided to take the bus home and chill for a couple of hours before we had to pick the car up and go to my appointment. A few minutes after we got home my new editing machine arrived!!! My 27″ iMac is so gorgeous! The cats were more interested in the packaging that the computer came in.

After taking the bus back into town (I was about ready for a nap by then!) I decided to go to Bella Rosie and find something to go with my new haircut with the gift card that my fabulous girly friends gave me! I got an adorable black skirt and a amazing black and white tweed jacket (pictures later). By this time I am so nervous about my haircut that I am ready to go sit at Salon Vox and wait for my appointment (an hour and a half early . . . LOL!). Thank God Josh talked me into going to Melange for a Shirley Temple (yes, I drink those . . . stop laughing!) and some Beef Thai Rolls (so good!).

So I still ended up getting to Salon Vox 45 minutes early . . . and I just sat there pathetically staring at the images of the cut I wanted.
